How the Meeting Works
The APACVS 46th Annual Meeting is built around two ways to learn, didactic sessions and hands-on training.
Didactic Sessions. Our general sessions run in parallel tracks covering Cardiac, Congenital, Thoracic, Vascular, Critical Care, Conduit Harvest, and CTV Pharmacology. Move freely between rooms to build the day that matches your practice, from the latest in surgical technique to post-op management and pharmacologic management. Keynotes and the Presidential Address bring everyone together.
Hands-on Courses. Want to get your hands dirty? Our small-group courses put you at the table with expert faculty:
-
Cardiac First Assist Course – this is a 3-day course that covers practical skills for the operating room
-
Critical Care Bootcamp – this is a 3-day immersive, case-based training for the CTICU
-
Cardiac Anatomy – this is two-hour courses taught through live dissection of a porcine heart, offered daily Thursday - Saturday.
Hands-on courses have limited seating and require separate registration, so sign up early. Hands-on participants break for lunch and exhibits with everyone else, so you won't miss the networking.
Whether you're a new graduate or a seasoned surgical PA, you'll leave with skills you can use on your next shift.
